I write and update costcodle.net. The site is an archive and a guide. It is not a newsroom with outside columnists. You can reach me at [email protected].
Where a price comes from
Every answer page reads name, price, and image from games.json in KermWasTaken/costcodle. The official script rounds elapsed days since local 2023-09-21 midnight upward and adds one. Our UTC date labels use the game number at noon UTC; the live game can differ in other time zones. I do not invent a shelf price. If a day is missing from that file, the page is not published.
What I will not state as fact
- A global average score. The game does not compute one.
- A download size, app version, or Steam release. None exists in the repository.
- A player count or a star rating presented as our measurement.
- An unlimited mode on the official game. The daily counter does not have one.
Corrections
If you spot a price that does not match the file, email the URL. I re-download games.json, fix the page, and change its updated date. The same date is what the sitemap uses. Pages also name the day I last compared them with the source.
Freshness
A scheduled job re-fetches games.json and rebuilds the archive after UTC midnight. The build publishes only dates up to the current UTC day; each date is assigned the game number shown at noon UTC.
